REHABILITATION ZONES SEEK SECURITY: CHANCELLOR BARCO
Brussels, November 20 (CNE) – Carolina Barco, External Relations Minister, affirmed today that the Government recognizes the labor done by Non-Governmental Organizations, and that the State does not pretend to inhibit their actions. This, after meeting with Javier Solana, External Politics commissioner of the European Union.
The Chancellor explained to European journalists that the Government’s measurements concerning the access to Rehabilitation Zones were adopted for security reasons, because those territories are very dangerous and, consequently, "all individuals that go into the zones must take into consideration such situation," Barco expressed.
On the other hand, the civil servant underscored the importance of the engagements sustained with Patten and Solana, because the Government was able to clarify aspects with the European Union concerning like the State of Internal Concussion and the policy of Democratic Security.
Barco took advantage of the opportunity to explain the program related to the participation of citizens in order to defeat terrorist actions.
Additionally, Barco asked the EU to reorient and increase the resources for the reforestation program.
