CASA BLANCA ANUNCIA BENEFICIOS DEL ATPA PARA COLOMBIA

Washington, 25 sep (CNE).- El vocero de la Casa Blanca, Ari Fleisher, comunicó oficialmente a los medios locales e internacionales que el primer mandatario estadounidense George Bush informó al Presidente de Colombia, Alvaro Uribe Vélez, durante su encuentro de hoy en la Oficina Oval, que le otorgará tanto a Colombia como a Perú y Bolivia, los beneficios del Atpa.

Según Fleisher, "esta determinación fomentará las relaciones comerciales entre Estados Unidos y estos países".

"El Presidente Bush reafirmó su compromiso para colaborarle a Colombia con sus necesidades financieras, subrayando la labor ejercida por el Fondo Monetario Internacional, el Banco Interamericano de Desarrollo y el Banco Mundial, para asegurar un incremento de la asistencia financiera", afirmó el Vocero.

Fleisher dijo también que su Gobierno está trabajando con Ecuador para recomendarlo en futuras designaciones.
