COUNCIL
OF EU INCLUDE NATIONAL LIBERATION ARMY IN LIST OF TERRORISTS
Brussels, 05 apr. (SNE).- The Council of the
European Union included the National Liberation Army in its last list
of terrorist organizations
and persons related to terrorist activities. The initiative is a result
of President Álvaro Uribe's official visit to Europe, in which
he manifested to the multilateral organism the necessity of including
this group in the list.
The measures of this decision include the freezing of funds and other
financial assets and economic resources, ensuring that funds, financial
assets or economic resources or financial or other related services are
not made available, directly or indirectly, for the benefit of specified
persons, and groups and entities, and police and judicial co-operation
between the Member States.
The following is the decision of the Council:
"Countering terrorism - Council updates
list of terrorist organizations
The Council decided on 2 April1 to update the EU list of terrorist organizations
and persons linked
to terrorist activities, which was first updated in December 2001 in
the wake of the terrorist attacks
of 11 September and last updated on 22 December 2003.
The list was updated by means of:
- A Common Position updating Common Position 2001/931/CFSP2 on specific
measures to
combat terrorism and repealing Common Position 2003/906/CFSP3; (doc.

- A Decision aimed at implementing specific restrictive measures under
Regulation 2580/20014
against certain persons and entities, and repealing Decision 2003/902/EC5.

The measures include:
* The freezing of funds and other financial assets and economic resources.
* Ensuring that funds, financial assets or economic resources or financial
or other related
services are not made available, directly or indirectly, for the benefit
of specified persons,
groups and entities.
* Police and judicial co-operation between the Member States.
