President Uribe congratulates the Police for success in “Frontiers Operation”


“I celebrate that very much because those bands have made several crimes and we must abolish them”, the Head of State said in an interview with the radio stations of the National Police, the Army and the Navy.

Bogotá, Feb 10 (SP). “I feel grateful with the Police; I congratulate them and General Óscar Naranjo, its Director”. With these words, President Álvaro Uribe Vélez congratulated the National Police for its success in the ‘Frontiers Operation’, in which they captured 21 people who were wanted for extradition.

In an interview with the radio stations of the Police, the Army and the National Navy, the Colombian Leader reiterated that it is essential to finish with that criminal bands in the country.

“I celebrate that very much because those bands have made several crimes and we must abolish them”, the Head of State said. “It is embarrassing that the people, who are supposed to be an example to others, are actually committing criminal offenses. And I praise the capture of that people, who were financing those criminal bands”, he added.
President Uribe asked the Armed Forces to stay alert and fight terrorist groups “every day and harder”.

“Against the Farc and all that bandits, against those criminal bands that harm so much, I invite the soldier of Colombia, the Air Force, the Army, the Police: to stay alert. Every day with more strength”, the President said.
