Montevideo, Uruguay, March 1st (SP). As a very “positive meeting” President Álvaro Uribe labeled the meeting he held this Monday with the new President of Uruguay, José Mujica, at the Palacio Legislativo of Montevideo.
At the end of that meeting, the Colombian Head of State declared the following:
President Álvaro Uribe Vélez: “Our meeting with the President of Uruguay, José Mujica, has just finished. A very positive meeting. The historic relation between Colombia and Uruguay has been a very good relationship.
At the beginning of our Government we coincided with President Jorge Batle, and that was a very good relation. We have had a great relation with President Tabaré Vázquez. These years have been years of integration between the Andean Community and Mercosur. Uruguay has played a very interesting role in it.
Before, I would say that we had more rhetorical relations. Today, with this integration, we have more practical relations. And the meeting we just have shows that Colombia and Uruguay will have great relations”. |
