Captures make Armed Forces proud and make Colombians feel calmed

President Álvaro Uribe Vélez pointed today that recent detentions of dangerous criminals encourage the Armed Forces to keep fighting to stop crime and be able to give the new generations a peaceful country.

Bogotá, April 16 (SP). President Álvaro Uribe declared today that recent captures must make soldiers and policemen proud and give tranquility to all Colombians.

“I would like to say the following about recent captures: this captures must make all members of the Colombian Army Forces proud, every one of our policemen and soldiers, and also make Colombian people to feel calmed and proud”, said the leader at a press conference at the Casa de Nariño in which he announced some learning contracts with Darío Montoya, Director of SENA.

Uribe Vélez highlighted that “these captures encourage our soldiers and policemen to keep moving on, to finish with crime and be able to give new generations a country where they can live in peace, live happy”.

The National Police captured Daniel Rendón Herrera aka ‘Don Mario’ at Necoclí (Antioquia) on Wednesday, April 15, one of the most important leaders of criminal bands of the zone and one of the most wanted drug traffickers of the country.

Three alleged criminals were also captured in Medellín, including José Leonardo Muñoz aka ‘Douglas’, considered one of the leaders of the crime organization known as ‘La Oficina de Envigado’ (Envigado’s Office).
