The Colombian Head of State continued his tour of South America, with a meeting, first time in the morning, with the President of Chile, Michelle Bachelet.
Santiago de Chile, August 5 (SP). The President of Colombia, Álvaro Uribe Vélez, held a meeting with his counterpart of Chile, Michelle Bachelet, in which he expressed his gratitude to her, for having that meeting at the offices of the Chilean Government.
“We had a very important dialogue with President Michelle Bachelet. We are grateful with her and her Government”, The Colombian Leader said to the press after their meeting.
The appointment took place in the morning at the Palacio de la Moneda, as part of the second day of President Uribe’s tour of South America in order to discuss –directly with his counterparts- terrorism in Colombia, its risks and matters related to the Union of South American Nations (Unasur).
“I want to send my kindest regards to the people of Chile. It has been very pleasant to have the opportunity to hold this dialogue here in Santiago. To all of you, dear journalists, a very respectful greeting and thank you very much”, the Head of State pointed.
In the last two days, President Álvaro Uribe and the Minister of Foreign Affaris, Jaime Bermúdez, held meetings with the Presidents of Peru and Bolivia, Alan García and Evo Morales. On Wednesday, President Uribe will hold meetings with the Heads of State of Argentina, Cristina Fernández de Kirchner, and Paraguay, Fernando Lugo. |
