The election was made at the OAS’s general assembly in Honduran city San Pedro Sula. Colombian Foreign Minister said that Colombia receives this news with gratefulness and satisfaction.
San Pedro Sula, Honduras, June 3 (SP). Colombia was unanimously elected to host the sixth Summit of the Americas in 2013.
The pronouncement was made during the OAS's 39th general assembly in Honduran industrial city San Pedro Sula.
When he knew the decision, Minister of Foreign Affairs thanked the election in the name of our country.
“We receive this news with gratefulness and satisfaction. It is very important for Colombia to lead this process. We thank all those countries who supported this initiative and the team of our Government who participated in it”, the Minister pointed.
He added that our country will begin to work for the Summit.
“We are very happy and committed, and we have to start working to lead this purpose. From now, Colombia is ready and with its heart open to receive you”, the Minister of Foreign Affairs said.
Bermúdez admired the last Summit held in Trinidad and Tobago, which also supported Colombia to host the next edition. |
