“We are very grateful with President Alvaro Uribe and Colombia for the way they have faced the fight against terrorism and drug trafficking” the Italian Minister of Foreign Affairs said.
Rome, June 17 (SP). The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Italy, Franco Frattini, thanked Colombia for the fight against terrorism and drug trafficking.
“We are very grateful with President Alvaro Uribe and Colombia for the way they have faced the fight against terrorism and drug trafficking” the Italian Minister of Foreign Affairs said. Italy is the current President of G-8 group.
He added that “this is a field in which Italy and Colombia, and also Italy and Latin America will always be united”
The Minister of Foreign Affairs made these statements during the launching of the book ‘The world to come’, published by journalist Pino Buongiormo, which is a snapshot of the world through chapters written by different leaders of the world, including the President of Colombia, who analyzed the subject of ‘Governability under the threat of terrorism and drug trafficking’.
The book gathers perspectives from different Heads of State about different subjects that will be discussed in the next meeting of the G-8 group in Aquila, Italy, from the 8th to the 10th of July. Some of the subjects are: economic crisis, global warming, Middle East, Human Rights and international terrorism.
The texts were written by Leaders as the President of the United States Barack Obama, China’s Hu Jintao, Rusia’s Dmitri Medvedev and the United Nations General Secretary, Ban Ki-moon.
The United Kingdom, Japan, Germany, France, Italy, Canada and Russia are members of the G-8 group.
