The Head of State expressed that the election of our country as host of this event for the year 2013 is good news for tourism.
Santa Marta, June 3 (SP). President Álvaro Uribe Vélez highlighted this Wednesday the designation of Colombia as host for the next Americas Summit, which will take place in four years.
During the opening act of the Colombian Association of Travel Agencies and Tourism Conference (Anato) in Santa Marta, the Leader expressed that the election of Colombia as host of this event is good news for tourism.
“This morning, our Minister of Foreign Affairs called us from the OAS’s assembly. It was confirmed that Colombia was elected as host for the next Summit of the Americas. This is good news for tourism” the Head of State pointed.
Colombia was unanimously elected as host for the Sixth Summit of the Americas, which will be on 2013. The designation was done during the 39 general assembly of the Organization of American States (OAS), held in San Pedro Sula (Honduras).
