That way, the Head of State ask the military and police authorities to be more coordinated with prosecutors and guarantee judges to capture the leaders of this groups. He also pointed that some leaders of this gangs are hiding in foreign countries, and he asked for international collaboration in this matter, like he has done before.

Bogotá, March 9 (SP). The president of Colombia, Alvaro Uribe Velez, call for  national and international cooperation to fight criminal drug trafficking bands, after a Security Council to evaluate this issue at the Casa de Nariño.

At a local level, he asked for the cooperation of guarantee judges, and the coordination between military, police authorities and justice representatives.

He announced that de Vice Minister of Justice, Miguel Ceballos, the Vice Minister of Defense, Sergio Jaramillo, the director of Military Intelligence, Vice Admiral Alvaro Echandía Durán (as delegate of the Minister of Defense) and the Police Commander, General Oscar Naranjo, are going to meet with Judgeship Council to look for a better coordination of the judges, and that way capture all the members os this illegal groups.

 To get “the most efficient cooperation to totally deactivate this bands”, the President asked for meetings of the army, the police, judges and prosecutors in each city.

He also highlighted that some people of this groups are hiding in other countries, such as some guerrillas’ leaders are. That is why the country is asking for international cooperation to “look for the way to capture all this criminals”.
