The staff member received the “Academic Palms” medal, lord class, for his progress in the technical and technological training fields.
Bogotá, March 17 (SP). For his development in education and the ties built between France and Colombia for technical and technological training cooperation, the Government of France decorated the Director of the National Learning Service (SENA), Dario Montoya with the Academic Palms Medal.
At the ceremony, in the residence of France Ambassador Jean-Michel Malraud, was the President of Colombia Alvaro Uribe Velez, who showed his gratitude to France for recognizing the work of the government employee and highlighted the compromise that this means for the Institution and for the country.
“This honor is a commitment for Sena, a commitment for the country. It is a motivation for the work of Mr. Dario Montoya. It is a good moment for receiving this decoration from France, a good moment for the Sena Director. We are going trough a moment of worries about employment and the impact of the economical crisis” said the President.
The medal was conferred by France Ambassador, Jean-Michel Marlaud, who underlined the cooperation cores of both countries in the field of training, through the National Engineer School of Metz.
“If France decided to give this award was because of many reasons: first, because we know how Colombia needs technical and technological education, its relation with business and its importance related to any county’s competitiveness. It is that way for France and for every country in the world”, pointed the French Ambassador.
The “Academic Palms” is one of the oldest decorations of France. It was created by Napoleon on 1808, as recognition for those who distinguish in the field of education. |
