Medellín, March 30 (SP). President Álvaro Uribe Vélez praised this Monday the way the city faced the challenge of planning and carrying out the Governors’ Assembly of the Inter American Development Bank in its 50th version.
In a statement to the press, after the closing ceremony of the ordinary sessions of the main gathering of the multilateral organization, the Head of State declared that with this event, the capital of Antioquia heightened the name of Colombia.
“All the citizens of Medellín worked to make of this summit an event and they managed, between all of them with quality, to heighten the name of Colombia, because all visitors have felt very happy and that is very convenient for Colombia, for Medellín”, highlighted the leader.
He emphasize that the city made of this Assembly a great event, being warm and kind with both foreigners and Colombians who came to this gathering.
“The souls of the city turned to make of the IADB Assembly a great event, and to do, in the name of all Colombians, the best work to make all visitors from the IADB Assembly could feel in paradise”, said the President.
At this end of the statement, answering a question from a journalist about tx reduction, President Uribe called for all contributors to make its payments on time.
He said that during the crisis it is necessary to have resources to make possible the financing of the Government’s countercyclical economic policy, made to face the problems of the economy.
“The State has more needs and fewer possibilities to collect. That is why those who have to pay must do it on time, so the State with less collects, can be able to attend more requests”, pointed the leader. |
