The Head of State invited Spanish investors to keep involved with current Colombian projects. He insisted in the need of remain with the stability of labor and tributary laws, to promote flood of productive capital to the country.

Bogotá, May 28 (SP). Before more than 500 Colombian and Spanish businessmen, President Álvaro Uribe Vélez reiterated this Thursday Colombia’s commitments with local and foreign investment.

“At this moment Colombia has to reiterate all its commitments with private, local and international investment”, the Leader pointed during the opening of the Hispanic - Colombian Business Investment and Cooperation Forum, held in Bogotá.

He confirmed that our country is making a permanent effort to keep the trust, working everyday to improve security, searching for investment and seeking for social cohesion.
The Head of State reminded that Colombia has been a friendly country with investment, and what this Government has done, is to put investment as a fundamental priority to overcome poverty and build social equity.

Considering this, he asked the businessmen to introduce investment trust day by day in the conscience and hearts of all citizens.

“Investors must captivate citizens before captivate governments, otherwise investment will be unsustainable” President Uribe warned.

He also insisted in the need of remain with the stability of labor and tributary laws, to promote flood of productive investment to the country.

At the end, he thanked the confidence put in Colombia by the King and Government of Spain, and invited Spanish investors to keep involved with current Colombian projects.

“You can find great management in Colombia, fact that is well known at a national and international level, excellent workers, a great effort in technical and technological training, undoubtedly the best effort of the continent through Sena and its complements in the private sector.

“You can fin in Colombia an unbreakable industry so foreign investors can develop associations with Colombian investors”.

“All these are facts to invite you to answer, in a positive way, to the need of invest in Colombia” the Head of State finished.
