The Head of State said that, during the inauguration of the new plant of Siemens at Tenjo (Cundinamarca). He pointed that Siemens set up that plant because it found in Colombia a country committed with business development.
Tenjo, Cundinamarca, Oct 1 (SP). President Álvaro Uribe Vélez stated this Thursday that Siemens’ plant is working in Colombia because its top executives have confidence in Colombia, because they know that security is progressing.
“Siemens has installed this plant because they have confidence in Colombia, because they know that Colombia is moving forward in security. Security is really important to build that kind of opportunities”, the Head of State pointed during the inauguration of the Siemens’ plant, at Tenjo (Cundinamarca).
He also pointed that Siemens set up that plant because it finds in Colombia a country committed with business development.
“Siemens has set up that plant in Colombia because it finds that Colombia is a country committed with business development. Not for business development itself, but because that is an efficient way for employment”, he said.
The Leader reiterated that the National Government is going to keep working for the Colombian people to trust in their own country as well as foreigners.
“That is what we want, Colombians having confidence in our Nation and foreigners having confidence in Colombia. That confidence needs security, that confidence needs investment promotion, that confidence needs social cohesion”, he stated.
In addition, he talked about the importance of that plant in terms of employment for the country.
“We are very pleased to know that 500 Colombians are going to work with Siemens, a quality job, decent, with affiliation to social security. Moreover, we are very pleased to know that for these 500 fellow citizens, a network of suppliers and distributors could create another one thousand jobs”, he pointed.
The Head of State highlighted that free trade zones are moving from theory to practice and reminded that Colombia has today 55 free trade zones.
“Free trade zones are moving from theory to practice and that is a good thing. Today we can tell Colombians that we are seeing the results from that task; Minister (of Commerce, Luis Guillermo) Plata and his work team, as well as all Colombians must see in this Siemens plant the hope that should be reflected in the whole country, opportunities for the prosperity of Colombians”, he finished. |
