President Uribe highlights Police’s intelligence effort in raids against Farc in the South of Tolima

Armenia, Oct 2 (SP). President Álvaro Uribe Vélez highlighted the intelligence work done by the National Police, which made possible the raids made by the Colombian Air Forces and the National Army against the Farc guerrillas in the South of Tolima department.

At the end of the Cotelco Assembly in the city of Armenia, the Head of State asked the journalist to be “prudent” and wait for the verification that the Ministry of Defense is doing in the zone of the raids.

This is his statement:

President of the Republic of Colombia, Álvaro Uribe Vélez: “I have to be very prudent. We must wait for the verification that the Armed Forces are doing. The National Police did a very valuable intelligence effort. From Armenia, I want to highlight the work of the National Police. That was an action of the Air Force, thanks to the investigation made by the National Police, and then the Army entered to the records. However, we should wait until the verification process is finished”.
