The Ambassador of Korea in Colombia, Seong-Hoa Hong, made that statement at the Casa de Nariño, after his meeting with President Álvaro Uribe. He also said that this project is a way to thank the Colombian people for their participation in the Korean War, with one military contingent, between 1950 and 1953.
Bogotá, October 28 (SP). From next year on, the rehabilitation center will work in Colombia in order to get full physical recuperation as well as social and labor integration for handicapped people –civilians and militaries- who have been victims of violence.
The governments of Colombia and Korea are directing the project, which costs around 12 million dollars.
“We are planning the construction of an integral rehabilitation center; we are going to build it in Bogotá. That was an initiative of the Presidency and now the implementation of the project is in charge of the Ministry of Defense”, the Ambassador of Korea in Colombia, Seong-Hoa Hong said.
He also said that this project is a way to thank the Colombian people for their participation in the Korean War, with one military contingent, between 1950 and 1953.
“This is a very symbolic project because as you know, Colombia participated in the War of Korea when we were facing trouble. Then, we are trying to return what we got during difficult times in Korea”, he added.
The Ambassador declared that the Governments of Colombia and Korea are working on integral improvement programs for health services in the municipality of Quibdó (Chocó), as well as in support for the creation of an action plan for the development of Communication and Information Technologies. |
