That was informed by Minister of Foreign Affairs Jaime Bermúdez, who is in Brasilia to hold meetings with different members of the Government of that country. Bermúdez pointed that Brazil has an important interest about invest in Colombia and reminded that for a long time now, both countries have worked in cooperation affairs and in the last year 14 agreements have been signed.

Brasilia, Brazil, September 9 (SP). The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Jaime Bermúdez, informed that President Álvaro Uribe Vélez will visit Sao Paulo (Brazil) on October 18 and 19 to participate in a Business Summit of both countries.

The Minister added that there is a strong interest from Brazil for investing in Colombia.

Bermudez is going to hold meetings with his counterpart of Brazil, Celso Amorim, the Minister of Defense of that same country, Nelson Jobim and with Daniel Barcelo Vargas from the Secretary of Strategic Affairs in Brasilia. The Colombian official reminded that both countries have worked in cooperation affairs and in the last year 14 agreements have been signed.

“In the meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Brazil, Amorim, we are going to explore all those subjects of the bi-national agenda. In the meeting with the Minister of Defense of Brazil, we are going to analyze the possibilities to move forward a cooperation agreement to fight drug trafficking between Colombia and Brazil, which has already been dialogued, and keep promoting this important relation for both countries” Minister Jaime Bermudez told RCN Radio on an interview.
